Back in trip to a mile the strongly backed favourite Giustino (4/5) ran away with John Thomas McNamara Handicap (division two) to credit winning jockey Dylan Browne McMonagle with a Listowel double.
It’s no surprise to note that the successful three-year-old, bred by the Irish National Stud and William Slattery, and owned by the latter, is entered at Leopardstown on Thursday too.
The handicapper is likely to have his say as the Joseph O’Brien-trained Free Eagle gelding sluiced home from the front, by eight lengths from Benkogambit.
Browne McMonagle won earlier on Wee Pablo for Pat Martin.
“He did it well. I got an easy lead in front and he picked up really off the bend and hit the line strong,” said Browne McMonagle.
“He relaxed lovely. Nothing seemed to bother me in front and I was able to fill him up all the way around.”
