  Tim Easterby   is not afraid of taking on market leaders   Golden Pal   and   Suesa   with   Winter Power   in the Coolmore Wootton Bassett Nunthorpe Stakes at   York . The three-year-old filly has won twice on the Knavesmire already this season, with her only defeat so far coming in the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot. Jim Crowley reached a major milestone at Goodwood as he secured his 2,000th career winner in Britain aboard Modmin. The former champion jockey enjoyed a memorable Ebor Festival at York, with six winners highlighted by sprint sensation Battaash’s Nunthorpe victory as part of a fabulous Friday four-timer. He needed two more winners for his landmark heading into a new week, and suffered a few frustrating days before getting Zahratty home at Newmarket on Saturday. The Marcus Tregoning-trained Modmin looked to hold every chance of giving Crowley his milestone, and so it proved as the 30-100 favourite made all in the Ladbrokes Supporting ‘Children With Cancer UK’ Novice Stakes..

Fujaira Prince followed up his Royal Ascot success with victory in York's Sky Bet Ebor Handicap. Roger Varian's grey was a rare winning favourite in one of the Flat calendar's most notoriously difficult handicaps. Safe Voyage bids to get back to winning ways in a "spicy" renewal of the Sky Bet City of York Stakes. The consistent John Quinn-trained seven-year-old, who won the Surrey Stakes at the Derby meeting on his penultimate outing, finished a close-up fourth in the Lennox Stakes at Goodwood last time out. Willie Mullins seeks a second win in the Sky Bet Ebor Handicap when he saddles True Self in the York feature. The Closutton trainer struck in the 2009 renewal with the mare Sesenta, a 25-1 shot under then 5lb claimer Gary Carroll when she got the better of Aidan O'Brien's hotpot Changingoftheguard. Mullins' representative this year was beaten only three lengths into sixth place 12 months ago, before going on a round-the-world tour - which included trips to Australia, where she won a Group Three, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia....                    Andrew Nelis Racing 

Happy Romance landed her owners another huge pot when holding off the late attention of favourite Devious Company in the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Stakes at York. With the Weatherbys Super Sprint in the bag, connections of the Richard Hannon-trained winner were already in bonus territory, although she did have to prove her stamina stepping up to six furlongs for the first time. The Dandy Man filly showed her blistering speed when quickening away from the field over a furlong out, with the dual Group Two-placed Devious Company - whose previous four outings had come at seven furlongs - caught flat-footed...                      Andrew Nelis Racing 

Love oozed class as she supplemented victories in the 1000 Guineas and Investec Oaks with a deeply impressive display in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks at York. Following Enable's defection, Love (4/9 fav) was all the rage to register her third Group One victory from as many starts this season and barely broke sweat as she cruised to another facile success. Jockey Ryan Moore was happy to take a lead as Manuela De Vega cut out sensible early fractions but Love simply breezed into the lead with over two furlongs to run as her rivals, one by one, failed to land anything close to a telling blow....                        Andrew Nelis  racing

Miss Amulet  saw off favourite  Sacred  to win the  Sky Bet   Lowther  Stakes at  York  for Ireland. Ken Condon’s filly, having her sixth race, made her experience count to keep the challenge of Sacred comfortably at bay in the final furlong. The 15-2 shot took up the running from big outsider  Wings Of A Dove  two furlongs out – and although Sacred appeared briefly set to justify her starting price of 15-8, Miss Amulet responded gamely for James Doyle to prevail by a length...                      

Pyledriver delivered a power-packed performance to register his second Group Two triumph in the Sky Bet Great Voltigeur Stakes at York. The King Edward VII Stakes winner put an unfortunate run in the Derby behind him to show his true his colours in terrific fashion and strike for trainer William Muir and jockey Martin Dwyer, his son-in-law. Jim Crowley is counting down the days until he will be reunited with the brilliant Battaash in the Coolmore Nunthorpe at York. It is 14 years since the former northern-based jumps rider switched codes. Exactly a decade later, he was crowned Britain’s champion Flat jockey – before being appointed number one rider to one of the sport’s most prominent owners in Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum. It has proved a fruitful association for both, particularly this year, with Crowley booting home six winners for his boss at Royal Ascot in June and more recently steering crack miler Mohaather to top-level success in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood.. Gordon Stakes winner  Mogul  is among a field of eight declared for the  Sky Bet  Great Voltigeur Stakes at  York  on Wednesday. The Aidan O’Brien-trained colt had been slightly disappointing on his first two starts this term in the King Edward VII Stakes and the Derby, but returned to form with victory over Highland Chief at Goodwood. Paul Cole’s charge renews rivalry as does the third home that day, the Mark Johnston-trained Subjectivist. Pyledriver, winner of the King Edward VII Stakes, bids to get back to winning ways after having no luck in the Derby. The versatile seven-year-old is on the "borderline" to make the maximum 22-horse field according to his trainer after 43 entries were revealed for the prestigious staying prize. Andrew Balding is confident 2000 Guineas hero Kameko can play a major role in the Juddmonte International Stakes at York, providing he stays the trip. The son of Kitten’s Joy will make his first start over a mile and a quarter in Wednesday’s Group One showpiece, after connections decided to swerve this weekend’s alternative in the Prix Jacques le Marois at Deauville. While Kameko, who finished fourth in the Derby on his penultimate start, still has his stamina to prove, the Kingsclere handler believes 10 furlongs may prove his optimum distance. Nigel Tinkler  is thinking of giving  Ubettabelieveit  a speculative entry in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at  York . The speedy youngster could stick to his own age group for the Roses Stakes, also over five furlongs, but Tinkler has not ruled out looking at the all-aged Group One on August 21. York's Juddmonte International remains a "remote possibility" for Andre Fabre's Persian King. Last year's French 2000 Guineas winner claimed another Group One success in the Prix d'Ispahan at Chantilly on Sunday. Roger Varian would prefer soft ground in order for Royal Ascot winner Mountain Angel to show his best form in the Sky Bet York Stakes on Saturday. The Group Two contest has attracted a field of nine, including last year's Dante winner Telecaster, who heads the market with the sponsors at 100-30 ahead of last year's winner Elarqam at 4-1.
