Conditions need to be right for max Vega states Ralph Beckett Andrew Nelis racing

Ralph Beckett will only run Max Vega in the Pertemps St Leger at Doncaster provided conditions are suitable. Having finished down the field in the Derby on his penultimate start, last year's Zetland Stakes winner returned close to his best when finding only Hukum too strong in the Geoffrey Freer Stakes on his most recent outing at Newbury. While Beckett - who won the St Leger with Simple Verse in 2015 - is keen to let Max Vega have a second shot at Classic glory, his chances of appearing on Town Moor will depend on how much rain falls in the build up to the race....                      Andrew Nelis Racing

Pomelo tips in favour of the Mayhill stakes Doncaster Andrew Nelis Racing

Ante-post favourite Pomelo is likely to bypass the Ladbrokes Prestige Stakes at Goodwood on Saturday in favour of an outing in the May Hill Stakes at Doncaster. Trainer Ralph Beckett plans to step the unbeaten daughter of Dubawi up to a mile for the first time in the Group Two prize on September 10. The Khalid Abdullah-owned filly earned quotes for next year's 1000 Guineas after running out an impressive five-length winner on her debut at Newbury last month..                  ANDREW Nelis Racing

De Vega claims the Lancashire Oaks Andrew Nelis

Manuela De Vega was backed as if defeat was out of the question in the Bet365 Lancashire Oaks and it all went to plan in the Haydock feature. An impressive winner of the Pinnacle Stakes at the course last month when making the running, Harry Bentley deployed different tactics on this occasion. Bentley had in fact chosen to ride the Ralph Beckett-trained stablemate of the winner, Antonia De Vega, but when she was found to be lame on race morning and was declared a non-runner in the Group Two contest, he switched.                      Andrew Nelis Racing

Time scale times it well at Newmwrket Andrew Nelis

Time Scale proved a cut above her rivals to run out a decisive winner of the Betway Empress Fillies' Stakes. The Ralph Beckett-trained daughter of Charm Spirit continued her climb through the ranks when backing up her facile success at Chepstow last time out with Listed glory. Travelling well throughout the six-furlong prize, the 6-4 favourite quickly put the race to bed when sent on by champion jockey Oisin Murphy before crossing the line three and half lengths clear of the previously unbeaten Concessions..                         Andrew Nelis racing

Kinross connections bullish over 2000 Guineas

Harry Bentley believes Kinross is capable of providing him with a first Classic success in the Qipco 2000 Guineas at Newmarket on Saturday. The 27-year-old will renew his partnership with the Ralph Beckett-trained colt at the scene of his emphatic debut victory in October. Despite Kinross tasting defeat upped to Group One company in the Verterm Futurity Trophy at Newcastle on his final start of last year, Bentley retains plenty of faith in the son of Kingman.
