Hello Youmzain survived a late challenge from last year's runner-up Dream Of Dreams to land the Diamond Jubilee Stakes and provide his jockey Kevin Stott with a breakthrough success at Royal Ascot.  The four-year-old was given the verdict following a photo-finish, with Sceptical running superbly to finish third under Frankie Dettori.  It was a second Group 1 for Hello Youmzain and a first for Stott, who wiped away joyful tears on his way back to the parade ring. "He's done it the hard way," said Adam Ryan, son of trainer Kevin. "He jumped well and his jockey let him find his stride. When it came to the end he battled hard and was very impressive." Frankie Dettori was in unstoppable form as he continued his winning spree with the John Gosden-trained Palace Pier in the St James's Palace Stakes. Much of the pre-race attention was focused on Pinatubo, who suffered a shock defeat in the 2000 Guineas earlier this month but was sent off favourite to regain the winning thread. William Buick settled the market leader at the back of the pack in what transpired to be a fairly tactical affair, with Guineas second Wichita trying to make every yard under Ryan Moore.. .

Nando Parrado sprang a 150-1 shock in the Coventry Stakes. Connections of Quadrilateral are hopeful she will improve for her run in the Guineas when she aims to return to winning ways in the Coronation Stakes. Santiago produced an improved display to give Aidan O'Brien a seventh victory in the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot. The Ballydoyle handler saddled two runners in a bid to add to his previous triumphs in the Group Two feature, with Ryan Moore partnering Santiago and Frankie Dettori aboard Nobel Prize. Golden Horde made just about all the running to lift the Commonwealth Cup for Clive Cox and Adam Kirby. Off the track since being narrowly beaten in the Middle Park Stakes in September, Kirby quickly had his mount into stride. Dandalla stretched clear in impressive fashion to win the Albany Stakes for Karl Burke and Ben Curtis. Another to have won at Newcastle since racing resumed, Dandalla could be noted travelling well a couple of furlongs out and when Curtis asked the question, the 13-2 shot responded in style. Pulling clear in the final furlong, she easily accounted for Setarhe to earn quotes of 16-1 for next year's 1000 Guineas.

Roger Varian and James Doyle teamed up to win the Wolferton Stakes at Royal Ascot in fine style with Mountain Angel. Fifth in the race to subsequent Group One hero Addeybb 12 months ago, Mountain Angel enjoyed a dream run up the inside to win in clear-cut fashion. Dark Vision was a length-and-a-quarter winner of the Royal Hunt Cup, under William Buick for Mark Johnston.
