Jim Crowley secures 2000th career wins in the UK Andrew Nelis racing

Jim Crowley reached a major milestone at Goodwood as he secured his 2,000th career winner in Britain aboard Modmin. The former champion jockey enjoyed a memorable Ebor Festival at York, with six winners highlighted by sprint sensation Battaash’s Nunthorpe victory as part of a fabulous Friday four-timer. He needed two more winners for his landmark heading into a new week, and suffered a few frustrating days before getting Zahratty home at Newmarket on Saturday. The Marcus Tregoning-trained Modmin looked to hold every chance of giving Crowley his milestone, and so it proved as the 30-100 favourite made all in the Ladbrokes Supporting ‘Children With Cancer UK’ Novice Stakes..

Battaash wins the Coolmore Nunthorpe stakes in fine style Andrew Nelis

Battaash continued his brilliant sprinting CV with a hard-fought victory in defence of his Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes crown at York. Charlie Hills' speedster had to defy rain-softened ground which put hopes of bettering the course record he set last year off the agenda. He also faced an unexpectedly stern challenge from outsider Que Amoro, before getting firmly on top in the final furlong to land the odds as the 1-2 favourite and see off the 22-1 runner-up by a length..                   Andrew Nelis Racing

Jim Crowley excited about the prospects of Battaash in the Nunthorpe Andrew Nelis racing

Jim Crowley is counting down the days until he will be reunited with the brilliant Battaash in the Coolmore Nunthorpe at York. It is 14 years since the former northern-based jumps rider switched codes. Exactly a decade later, he was crowned Britain’s champion Flat jockey – before being appointed number one rider to one of the sport’s most prominent owners in Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum. It has proved a fruitful association for both, particularly this year, with Crowley booting home six winners for his boss at Royal Ascot in June and more recently steering crack miler Mohaather to top-level success in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood.. The fact Crowley is now just seven short of riding 2,000 career winners is clear evidence of the remarkable progress he has made since his days in the National Hunt sphere.... .                       Andrew Nelis Racing

Filly Nazeef to enter the Qatar Nassau Stakes Goodwood Andrew Nelis racing

Nazeef has already exceeded the hopes of her connections and will therefore face her next challenge with "no pressure" in the Qatar Nassau Stakes. Defending champion Deirdre and French Classic winner Fancy Blue lead the six-strong opposition to John Gosden's prolific filly in Thursday's Group One showpiece at Goodwood. Nazeef is already an "absolute star", however, in the words of owner Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum's racing manager Angus Gold - who is optimistic that, following her Group One breakthrough in Newmarket's Falmouth Stakes, she will take this move up to 10 furlongs in her stride..                     Andrew Nelis Racing .

Mohaather motors with such speed to win the Qatar Stakes Andrew Nelis

Mohaather demonstrated a devastating turn of foot to win a stellar renewal of the Qatar Sussex Stakes at Goodwood. Trained by Marcus Tregoning and ridden by Jim Crowley, the four-year-old endured a luckless run in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot - but righted the record as an impressive victor in a top-class running of the Group One showpiece. Queen Anne winner Circus Maximus set out to make all under Ryan Moore and the field was closely bunched with two furlongs to run as the leader tried to press on, with San Donato the first to make his bid and briefly looking as though he could be set to produce a shock...                        Andrew Nelis Racing .

Molatham wins the Jersey stakes Royal Ascot Andrew Nelis

Molatham gave Jim Crowley a fifth winner at Royal Ascot this week when rallying to beat Monarch Of Egypt in the Jersey Stakes. The pair dominated the business end of the race, with Molatham edging out Aidan O'Brien's runner in the dying strides. Monarch Of Egypt was last early, but was delivered by Ryan Moore to hit the front and look the likely winner in the final furlong..
