Blue mist drives through the fog to end his winless run with victory in the Moet and Chandon international stakes Andrew Nelis

Blue Mist put his luckless run at Royal Ascot behind him with a dominant victory in the Moet & Chandon International Stakes. Roger Charlton's charge was a well-supported favourite for the Silver Wokingham at the Berkshire circuit last month - but a tardy start put him on the back foot, and he encountered trouble in running on his way to finish a never-nearer ninth. There were no such problems on his return to Ascot this time, however, as the 9-2 market leader travelled strongly for much of the seven-furlong journey under Ryan Moore before displaying a sharp turn of foot to leave his rivals trailing in his wake..

Aspetar prevails in the skybet York Stakes Andrew Nelis

Aspetar ran out an impressive winner of the Sky Bet York Stakes to complete a memorable 15 minutes for Roger Charlton. Hot on the heels of Blue Mist winning the Moet & Chandon International Stakes at Ascot for Charlton, his five-year-old turned what looked a competitive Group Two into something of a stroll on the Knavesmire. Aspetar had in fact won a Group One in Germany last season, but escaped a penalty for that success, and surely more races at the highest level await following this impressive display..

She had to make do with minor honours when favourite for the 1000 Guineas in early June, but was far from disgraced in finishing third behind last Saturday's brilliant Oaks winner Love..

Quadrilateral team bullish over chances !Andrew Nelis racing

Connections of Quadrilateral are hopeful she will improve for her run in the Guineas when she aims to return to winning ways in the Coronation Stakes. Last season's Fillies' Mile winner was strongly fancied for the Qipco-sponsored Classic at Newmarket - but having run free to post and in the early stages of the race, the Roger Charlton-trained daughter of Frankel could finish only third. Harry Charlton, assistant to his father, said: "The team thought it was wrong to step straight up into the Oaks, having by chance run a bit keen in the Guineas after pinging the stalls. To go from a mile to a mile and a half seemed a bit unnatural. She showed some good speed that day...              Andrew Nelis Racing
