Frankie Dettori teams up with Aidan Obrien for St Legers Glory . Andrew Nelis racing

Frankie Dettori will once again be teaming up with Aidan O’Brien in his bid for a seventh victory in the Cazoo St Leger. The popular Italian and the master of Ballydoyle have combined to win two British Classics this season, with Mother Earth landing the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and Snowfall streaking clear of her rivals in the Cazoo Oaks at Epsom. It is 16 years since the O’Brien-Dettori axis claimed St Leger glory with Scorpion, while the rider has also landed the Doncaster showpiece aboard Classic Cliche (1995), Shantou (1996), Sixties Icon (2006), Conduit (2008) and Logician (2019). O’Brien, who also has six Leger victories on his CV, has a six-strong team for Saturday’s renewal – with High Definition supplemented to join stablemates Carlisle Bay, Interpretation, King Of The Castle, Sir Lucan and The Mediterranean in the Town Moor showpiece. Dettori expects to learn which horse he will be riding later in the week.                 ...

Juddmonte is on for St Marks Andrew Nelis racing

St Mark's Basilica is among nine high-class confirmations for the Juddmonte International at York on Wednesday. Aidan O'Brien's colt has carried all before him so far this season, bagging back-to-back Classic wins in France with victories in the French 2000 Guineas and French Derby before dominating his rivals in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown last month.                      Andrew Nelis racing

Snowfall led the way all home Andrew Nelis

Snowfall led her rivals a merry dance to provide Aidan O'Brien with his first victory in the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes at York. The daughter of Japanese superstar Deep Impact managed just one win in seven outings as a juvenile last season, albeit her final two outings were at Group One level in the Moyglare Stud Stakes and the Fillies' Mile. She was a generous-looking 14-1 shot on her reappearance, with the market dominated by the impeccably-bred pair of Noon Star - a daughter of Derby winner Galileo and top-class racemare Midday - and Sea The Stars filly Teona.      Andrew Nelis racing news and reviews

Love is all around and right favourite for the Arc Andrew Nelis racing

Love is a deserved favourite for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe in the view of Frankie Dettori following her exploits this season. Victories in the 1000 Guineas, Oaks and Yorkshire Oaks have seen Aidan O'Brien's filly usurp Enable at the head of the market for the European middle-distance championship - and Dettori is fully aware of the threat she poses to the John Gosden-trained mare's bid for an unprecedented third victory in the race. The Italian is back in Britain and undergoing a period of quarantine after a brief sojourn in France, where he bagged two Group Ones courtesy of Palace Pier and Campanelle and a Group Two with Mishriff....                     Andrew Nelis Racing

Love is all around as the mare wins the Darley Yorkshire oaks with such ease Andrew Nelis racing

Love oozed class as she supplemented victories in the 1000 Guineas and Investec Oaks with a deeply impressive display in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks at York. Following Enable's defection, Love (4/9 fav) was all the rage to register her third Group One victory from as many starts this season and barely broke sweat as she cruised to another facile success. Jockey Ryan Moore was happy to take a lead as Manuela De Vega cut out sensible early fractions but Love simply breezed into the lead with over two furlongs to run as her rivals, one by one, failed to land anything close to a telling blow....                        Andrew Nelis  racing

Mogul lining up for a crack at skybet Great Voltigeur Stakes York Andrew Nelis Racing

Gordon Stakes winner  Mogul  is among a field of eight declared for the  Sky Bet  Great Voltigeur Stakes at  York  on Wednesday. The Aidan O’Brien-trained colt had been slightly disappointing on his first two starts this term in the King Edward VII Stakes and the Derby, but returned to form with victory over Highland Chief at Goodwood. Paul Cole’s charge renews rivalry as does the third home that day, the Mark Johnston-trained Subjectivist. Pyledriver, winner of the King Edward VII Stakes, bids to get back to winning ways after having no luck in the Derby. Trainer William Muir opted to go to the Knavesmire rather than travel to Germany for the Preis von Europa last weekend....                        Andrew Nelis Racing

Drawing support for love in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks Andrew Nelis racing

Dual Classic heroine Love is the star attraction among eight contenders for the Darley Yorkshire Oaks. Following a dominant victory in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket, Aidan O’Brien’s filly was even more impressive when stepped up to a mile and a half for the Oaks at Epsom. The daughter of Galileo is challenging the brilliant Enable for favouritism for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at ParisLongchamp in early October, and will be widely expected to enhance those claims at York next week. O’Brien has also entered his multiple Group One winner Magical, as well as Epsom runner-up Ennistymon. John Gosden decided against bidding for a third Yorkshire Oaks victory with Enable – but the Clarehaven maestro could instead call upon Frankly Darling, winner of the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot before finishing third behind Love at Epsom, and recent York winner Franconia. Sir Mark Prescott’s Alpinista could be set for a swift step up in class after winning the Listed Upavon Fillies’ Sta...

Double boom for Obrien and seamie Heffernan Andrew Nelis racing

Delphi initiated a big-race double for Aidan O'Brien and Seamie Heffernan when making it four from four for the season with a determined display in the Comer Group International Irish St Leger Trial at the Curragh. Down the field on his only juvenile start at Tipperary, the Galileo colt made a winning return in first-time blinkers at the Curragh in June and has not looked back - following up in a Navan handicap before dominating from the front in the Nijinsky Stakes at Leopardstown..                        Andrew Nelis racing

John Gosden talks about Santiago being the biggest threat Andrew Nelis racing

John Gosden believes Santiago represents a major obstacle for Stradivarius to overcome in his bid for a historic fourth Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup victory. The Bjorn Nielsen-owned Stradivarius has dominated the staying division over the past few seasons and equalled the popular Double Trigger's record of three triumphs in this two-mile Group One with a narrow verdict over regular foe Dee Ex Bee last summer. Having destroyed his rivals when claiming a Gold Cup hat-trick at Royal Ascot last month, Stradivarius will be a warm order on his return to the Sussex Downs - but Gosden is taking nothing for granted, with Stradivarius set to concede more than a stone in weight to Aidan O'Brien's Queen's Vase and Irish Derby hero Santiago...

Battleground to cement his soldier qualities in the Clicquot vintage stakes Goodwood Andrew Nelis racing

Royal Ascot hero  Battleground  puts his tall reputation on the line in the Veuve Clicquot  Vintage  Stakes at  Goodwood  on Tuesday. As well as being a son of American speedster War Front, Aidan O’Brien’s youngster is the first foal out of the yard’s brilliant racemare Found – best known for winning the 2016 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. Despite finishing a never-nearer fifth on his racecourse debut at Naas in early June, Battleground was a well-supported favourite for the Chesham Stakes 10 days later – and that confidence was justified with an emphatic victory..

Stradivarius heads to Goodwood Tuesday Andrew Nelis Racing

Stradivarius will face Irish Derby winner Santiago as he attempts to win the Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup for a fourth time on Tuesday. John Gosden's chestnut looked imperious in winning a third Gold Cup at Ascot last month and will aim to keep hold of his title as the best stayer around. However, he needs to give 15lb to Aidan O'Brien's Santiago, who like Stradivarius won the Queen's Vase at Ascot, but charted a different path by dropping back in trip to claim Classic glory...

Serpentine penciled in for the Juddmonte Grand Prix De Paris Andrew Nelis racing

Surprise Investec Derby winner Serpentine will head to France for his next outing in the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris. The Group One on September 13 takes place at ParisLongchamp on the same day as the Prix Vermeille and Prix Foy, but there will be no Prix Niel this season as a result. Serpentine made every yard of the running at Epsom – winning by five and a half lengths, having only broken his maiden a week earlier. “The plan with him is to go for the Grand Prix de Paris on the same day as the Arc trials,” said trainer Aidan O’Brien. “The lads (owners Coolmore) wanted to keep him at a mile and a half, with a view that he could go for the Arc or something like that. “Santiago, we always had marked down with the Leger – which is why we’re going to Goodwood with him in between – (and) I wouldn’t imagine Serpentine will go the Leger.                        Andrew Nelis racing

Magical to light a spark in the Tattersalls Gold Cup Sunday Andrew Nelis racing

Last year's winner Magical is the star attraction among six horses declared for the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh on Sunday. Aidan O'Brien's mare was a brilliant winner of the 10-furlong Group One last season and was last seen adding a fifth top-level success to her record in the Pretty Polly Stakes four weeks ago. Magical also had the option of taking on old foe Enable in the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes at Ascot on Saturday, but connections elected to keep her at home and she will be red-hot favourite to become the first horse to claim back-to-back renewals of the Tattersalls Gold Cup since So You Think (2011 and 2012)...                     Andrew Nelis Racing

Enable in a line up of four in total for King George Andrew Nelis Racing

Enable will face just three rivals - all trained by Aidan O'Brien - as she bids for a piece of history at Ascot on Saturday afternoon. John Gosden's six-year-old mare will become the first horse ever to win the King George on three separate occasions if she can go one better than on her seasonal comeback in the Coral-Eclipse earlier in the month. Standing in her way are just a trio of horses from the Ballydoyle camp, namely Japan, Anthony Van Dyck and likely outsider Sovereign....

Aidan Obrien heading for a six win in the Irish Oaks Andrew Nelis Racing

Aidan O’Brien has whittled his team down to four as he goes in search of a sixth  Juddmonte Irish Oaks success on Saturday. Cayenne Pepper  and O'Brien's  Ennistymon  are two of eight fillies declared for the Group One feature, live on Racing TV at 7.15pm on Saturday. The  Jessica Harrington -trained Cayenne Pepper is clear favourite for the  Curragh  Classic with some bookmakers, after running an excellent race in defeat behind the top-class older mare Magical in the Pretty Polly Stakes three weeks ago. The daughter of Australia will step up to a mile and a half for the first time this weekend in the hands of Shane Foley..

Aidan Obrien targets the Yorkshire Oaks for Love Andrew Nelis Racing

Outstanding filly Love will sidestep this weekend’s Juddmonte Irish Oaks and will instead be aimed at next month's Darley Yorkshire Oaks, trainer Aidan O'Brien revealed on Monday. A brilliant winner of the Qipco 1,000 Guineas and Investec Oaks, Love is as short as 7-2 favourite with some firms for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in October, which O’Brien confirmed was the daughter of Galileo's long-term target.  He said: “Love doesn't run this weekend. She is perfect. What we are thinking at the moment is that she is probably going to go straight to York for the Yorkshire Oaks, and then on to the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe after that.                         Andrew Nelis racing

Aidan Obrien claims another Derby with Serpentine Andrew Nelis

Serpentine sprang a 25-1 surprise as he made all for a famous victory in the Investec Derby at Epsom. One of six runners for Aidan O'Brien - who was winning the race for an incredible eighth time - Serpentine only shed his maiden tag at the third time of asking last weekend. Turning out just seven days later, Serpentine appeared to be filling the pacemaker role for better-fancied stable companions, including Mogul, with Khalifa Sat and fellow O'Brien contender Amhran Na Bhfiann the only ones to really try to go with him..                        Andrew Nelis racing

Double Love for O'Brien and Ryan Moore Oaks classic Andrew Nelis

Love added another Classic to her CV as she galloped all over her rivals in the Investec Oaks at Epsom. Winner of the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket last month, the Aidan O'Brien-trained filly made a seamless step up to 12 furlongs as she cruised home by nine lengths in the hands of Ryan Moore. Stablemate Passion and Tiempo Vuela tried to set the early pace, but they were ignored by the main players, with Moore settling the 11-10 favourite in fifth and Frankie Dettori tracking him on main market rival Frankly Darling.                    Andrew Nelis Racing

Love and Franklyn Darling locked together at the top of the Oaks market Andrew Nelis

Market leaders Love and Frankly Darling head a field of eight for the Investec Oaks at Epsom on Saturday. Love has been the ante-post favourite since her convincing victory in the Qipco 1000 Guineas and she now bids to become the first filly since Minding in 2016 to win both Classics. Her trainer Aidan O'Brien also saddles Ennistymon and Passion as he seeks a seventh Oaks success.                       Andrew Nelis Racing

Peaceful will head to France rather than the Oaks Andrew Nelis

Peaceful is likely to head for Sunday's Prix de Diane at Chantilly, with Love heading for Saturday's Investec Oaks at Epsom, as Aidan O'Brien looks to keep his star fillies apart. Love won the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket in fine style, while Peaceful romped away with the Irish equivalent at the Curragh. Both were entered for Epsom, but it now seems likely only one will run.                       Andrew Nelis racing
