Frankie Dettori teams up with Aidan Obrien for St Legers Glory . Andrew Nelis racing

Frankie Dettori will once again be teaming up with Aidan O’Brien in his bid for a seventh victory in the Cazoo St Leger. The popular Italian and the master of Ballydoyle have combined to win two British Classics this season, with Mother Earth landing the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket and Snowfall streaking clear of her rivals in the Cazoo Oaks at Epsom. It is 16 years since the O’Brien-Dettori axis claimed St Leger glory with Scorpion, while the rider has also landed the Doncaster showpiece aboard Classic Cliche (1995), Shantou (1996), Sixties Icon (2006), Conduit (2008) and Logician (2019). O’Brien, who also has six Leger victories on his CV, has a six-strong team for Saturday’s renewal – with High Definition supplemented to join stablemates Carlisle Bay, Interpretation, King Of The Castle, Sir Lucan and The Mediterranean in the Town Moor showpiece. Dettori expects to learn which horse he will be riding later in the week.                 ...

Love is all around as the mare wins the Darley Yorkshire oaks with such ease Andrew Nelis racing

Love oozed class as she supplemented victories in the 1000 Guineas and Investec Oaks with a deeply impressive display in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks at York. Following Enable's defection, Love (4/9 fav) was all the rage to register her third Group One victory from as many starts this season and barely broke sweat as she cruised to another facile success. Jockey Ryan Moore was happy to take a lead as Manuela De Vega cut out sensible early fractions but Love simply breezed into the lead with over two furlongs to run as her rivals, one by one, failed to land anything close to a telling blow....                        Andrew Nelis  racing

Mogul lining up for a crack at skybet Great Voltigeur Stakes York Andrew Nelis Racing

Gordon Stakes winner  Mogul  is among a field of eight declared for the  Sky Bet  Great Voltigeur Stakes at  York  on Wednesday. The Aidan O’Brien-trained colt had been slightly disappointing on his first two starts this term in the King Edward VII Stakes and the Derby, but returned to form with victory over Highland Chief at Goodwood. Paul Cole’s charge renews rivalry as does the third home that day, the Mark Johnston-trained Subjectivist. Pyledriver, winner of the King Edward VII Stakes, bids to get back to winning ways after having no luck in the Derby. Trainer William Muir opted to go to the Knavesmire rather than travel to Germany for the Preis von Europa last weekend....                        Andrew Nelis Racing

Double boom for Obrien and seamie Heffernan Andrew Nelis racing

Delphi initiated a big-race double for Aidan O'Brien and Seamie Heffernan when making it four from four for the season with a determined display in the Comer Group International Irish St Leger Trial at the Curragh. Down the field on his only juvenile start at Tipperary, the Galileo colt made a winning return in first-time blinkers at the Curragh in June and has not looked back - following up in a Navan handicap before dominating from the front in the Nijinsky Stakes at Leopardstown..                        Andrew Nelis racing

Enable in a line up of four in total for King George Andrew Nelis Racing

Enable will face just three rivals - all trained by Aidan O'Brien - as she bids for a piece of history at Ascot on Saturday afternoon. John Gosden's six-year-old mare will become the first horse ever to win the King George on three separate occasions if she can go one better than on her seasonal comeback in the Coral-Eclipse earlier in the month. Standing in her way are just a trio of horses from the Ballydoyle camp, namely Japan, Anthony Van Dyck and likely outsider Sovereign....

Aidan Obrien heading for a six win in the Irish Oaks Andrew Nelis Racing

Aidan O’Brien has whittled his team down to four as he goes in search of a sixth  Juddmonte Irish Oaks success on Saturday. Cayenne Pepper  and O'Brien's  Ennistymon  are two of eight fillies declared for the Group One feature, live on Racing TV at 7.15pm on Saturday. The  Jessica Harrington -trained Cayenne Pepper is clear favourite for the  Curragh  Classic with some bookmakers, after running an excellent race in defeat behind the top-class older mare Magical in the Pretty Polly Stakes three weeks ago. The daughter of Australia will step up to a mile and a half for the first time this weekend in the hands of Shane Foley..

Seamie Heffernan landed 22 day ban Andrew Nelis

Seamie Heffernan is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after picking up a 22-day suspension for his use of the whip in the Prix du Jockey Club at Chantilly on Sunday. Heffernan finished in seventh place in the French Derby aboard the Aidan O'Brien-trained Order Of Australia, with the stewards ruling he had exceeded the five-stroke limit that exists in France by six strokes. Heffernan - who last weekend won the Irish Derby with Santiago - rode at Epsom on Saturday and was already due to sit out 14 days on his return to Ireland as a result of quarantine requirements. He said: "I got a fairly strong suspension, but there's strict rules there. My horse was going to go over the rail, I had a white paint all around my boot, but those are the rules and that's the way it was..                            Andrew Nelis Racing

Aidan Obrien claims another Derby with Serpentine Andrew Nelis

Serpentine sprang a 25-1 surprise as he made all for a famous victory in the Investec Derby at Epsom. One of six runners for Aidan O'Brien - who was winning the race for an incredible eighth time - Serpentine only shed his maiden tag at the third time of asking last weekend. Turning out just seven days later, Serpentine appeared to be filling the pacemaker role for better-fancied stable companions, including Mogul, with Khalifa Sat and fellow O'Brien contender Amhran Na Bhfiann the only ones to really try to go with him..                        Andrew Nelis racing

Big bonanza card ahead of Naas Saturday! AndrewNelis

A number of recent Royal Ascot contestants including Royal Ascot winner Art Power are Naas bound this weekend for a quality Saturday Card. The Jessica Harrington trained filly was a winner of the Group 1 Juddmonte Cheveley ...

Kew Garden to retire to stud Andrew Nelis Racing

Aidan O'Brien's top-class stayer Kew Gardens has been retired to stud. Winner of the 2018 St Leger at Doncaster, the Galileo five-year-old memorably got the better of Stradivarius in a thrilling finish to the Long Distance Cup at Ascot on British Champions Day last season, his final outing. Ridden by Ryan Moore, Kew Gardens came out on top by a nose, but unfortunately never got to run again .                     Andrew Nelis Racing

Wichita to lock horns again with Rival at Ascot Andrew nelis

Wichita and Pinatubo, second and third in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket a fortnight ago, are set to renew rivalry at Royal Ascot after featuring among seven horses declared for the St James's Palace Stakes. The Group One contest is usually run on the first day of the showpiece meeting, but has this year been pushed back to the final afternoon on Saturday to give horses who ran in the season's opening Classic the best opportunity to turn out again. The move appears to have paid off - because although the Derby-bound 2000 Guineas winner Kameko will not be in attendance, the two horses who finished immediately behind him will do battle for top-level honours.

Anthony Van Dyck route to Cornation Cup

Last year’s Derby hero Anthony Van Dyck features among 11 entries for Friday’s Coronation Cup at Newmarket. The Aidan O’Brien-trained colt failed to add to his Epsom victory last term, but he did notch up three more Group One places, including when third in the Breeders’ Cup Turf. He is one of three possible Ballydoyle challengers along with Derby fourth and fifth, Broome and Sir Dragonet, who was second on his return in March before racing was suspended. Defoe won the race last year for Roger Varian when it was run at its usual Epsom home and he could try to defend his title, while Ghaiyyath could represent Godolphin and Charlie Appleby. Top stayer Stradivarius is in the mix for John Gosden and Frankie Dettori and he could drop back to 12 furlongs in a prep run ahead of his bid for a Gold Cup hat trick at Royal Ascot next month. Martyn Meade is also aiming at the Gold Cup with Technician and he took could tackle a shorter distance as a warm up. Andrew Balding’s Alounak, t...

Ballydoyle operation gearing up for a Assault on the classics

Aidan O'Brien has outlined potential running plans for some of his stable stars, including star mare Magical, who is back in training. The daughter of Galileo - the subject of so many battles with the mighty Enable - was a popular winner of the Qipco Champion Stakes on British Champions Day at Ascot in October and was due to head to the Breeders' Cup afterwards before being covered by No Nay Never
