Dream of dreams claims the Hungerford stakes Andrew Nelis Racing

Dream Of Dreams  finally gained the big-race victory his efforts over the years have deserved with an authoritative success in the  Unibet   Hungerford  Stakes at  Newbury . Having filled the runner-up spot in nine of his previous 26 starts – including for the second year running in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot on his return in June – the  Sir Michael Stoute -trained Dream Ahead gelding enjoyed a change of luck in the Group Two prize, winning by seven lengths. The victory was a poignant one in a week that Stoute has had to come to terms with the loss of his long-term partner  Coral  Pritchard-Gordon, following a long battle with illness..                       Andrew Nelis racing

Owen Burrows scores with Hukum Andrew Nelis racing

Hukum moved a significant step nearer giving trainer Owen Burrows his first runner in the St Leger with an impressive success in the Irish Thoroughbred Marketing Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury. The lightly-raced son of Sea The Stars had little trouble in backing up his King George V Stakes success from Royal Ascot in the Group Three contest over a mile and five furlongs - always travelling well just off the pace before ranging up alongside Max Vega just over a furlong out. Once in the clear, the Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned colt quickly put daylight between himself and the field under Jim Crowley to cross the line two and a half lengths clear of the game Max Vega..                      Andrew Nelis Racing

Dream of dreams dreams of Newbury Success Andrew Nelis Racing

Dream Of Dreams  bids to belatedly strike Group-race gold in the  Unibet   Hungerford  Stakes at  Newbury  on Saturday.. Sir Michael Stoute ’s charge has not managed to get his head in front since landing a Listed prize at Windsor in May of last year, subsequently beaten a head in successive renewals of the Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot, by Blue Point and Hello Youmzain respectively. Dream Of Dreams had previously finished second in the Group Three Bengough Stakes at Ascot, the Group Three Supreme Stakes at Goodwood and in this seven-furlong Group Two in 2018, but a victory at Pattern level has so far eluded him....                        Andrew Nelis Racing

Method to try and land a strike at the Bet365 Rose Bowl Newbury Andrew Nelis racing

The exciting Method tests the water at Listed level in the  bet365  Rose Bowl Stakes at  Newbury  on Saturday. Martyn Meade ’s colt was a short-priced favourite on his Doncaster debut three weeks ago and could hardly have been more impressive in scooting clear of his rivals under Ryan Moore. The form received a significant boost at Newmarket last week after the runner-up, Fev Rover, pushed Dandalla all the way in the Group Two Duchess of Cambridge Stakes. Method now gets his chance in Listed company, with champion jockey  Oisin Murphy  taking over in the saddle. “We’re looking forward to him running again. He was quite impressive at Doncaster, but this is a totally different ball game,” said Meade. “He’s come out the race really well and I’m expecting him to progress and make a good showing of himself...

Racing bodies deep in talk over the start of racing by medical chiefs Andrew Nelis racing

betfairexchange £20 Free Exchange Bet Racing industry leaders will meet today to discuss the implications of Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s speech on Sunday evening. Johnson unveiled his three-part strategy to ease the coronavirus lockdown, including allowing unlimited amounts of outdoor exercise from Wednesday, with possible plans for reopening schools in June. A phased reopening of shops is another step, while outdoor cafes could begin to reopen in July, along with public places including churches and cinemas, as long as the two-metre social distancing rule can be enforced and “if, and only if, the numbers support it”. People who cannot work from home are now being actively encouraged to go to work instead of being told to only go if they must, but they should avoid public transport if at all possible. The British Horseracing Authority is anticipating further guidance from Government later today on where the resumption of racing will fit in this strategy. It...
