John Quinn confident with Safe Voyage in the skybet city of York Stakes

Safe Voyage bids to get back to winning ways in a "spicy" renewal of the Sky Bet City of York Stakes. The consistent John Quinn-trained seven-year-old, who won the Surrey Stakes at the Derby meeting on his penultimate outing, finished a close-up fourth in the Lennox Stakes at Goodwood last time out. He met trouble in running there - and while Quinn does not think that cost victory over Space Blues, it would still have been a much better run on paper than it initially looks                       Andrew Nelis Racing

Safe Voyage claims the Surrey stakes on Derby Day Andrew Nelis

Safe Voyage took a while to hit his stride in the Investec Surrey Stakes - but eventually did so in style to emerge on top in the Listed prize. Trained by John Quinn and ridden by Jason Hart, Safe Voyage was sent off the 6-5 favourite on the back of a fine reappearance effort, but it was Shine So Bright who seized the early initiative. Silvestre de Sousa let the grey stride on and with a couple of furlongs to run it looked as though his front-running tactics would pay dividends.                      Andrew Nelis Racing

Liberty beach has come on so well states John Quinn Andrew Nelis

John Quinn is looking forward to seeing Liberty Beach contest more Group One sprints between now and the end of the season following her fine effort in defeat in the King's Stand at Royal Ascot. Having won four of her six starts as a juvenile, the daughter of Cable Bay made a successful three-year-old debut at Haydock earlier in the month to earn herself a ticket at the showpiece meeting. While ultimately no match for the brilliant Battaash, Liberty Beach ran with huge credit to finish third - beaten just a short-head to the runner-up spot by Equilateral - leaving her Yorkshire-based trainer understandably proud..                      Andrew Nelis racing .
