Lizzie Kelly announces her retirement from Racing Andrew Nelis

Record-breaking jump jockey Lizzie Kelly has announced her retirement from the saddle as she and her husband are expecting their first child later in the year. She went on to land a second major success on the same horse, who was trained by her stepfather Nick Williams, in the Betway Bowl at Aintree in April 2017. Born with pride born to win Andrew Nelis racing

Born With Pride is among a number of promising types entered for the Classic Trial at Kempton on Wednesday. The daughter of Born To Sea has only Quadrilateral ahead of her with most firms in the ante-post market on the Investec-sponsored Oaks, after a 20-1 success in the Listed Montrose Fillies' Stakes on her only juvenile start in November. The Epsom showpiece is scheduled for July 4 this year and, should racing restart as hoped next week, William Haggas has pencilled in his filly for the 10-furlong contest at the Sunbury venue, which hosts the race this year rather than its traditional home of Sandown.

Field sizes to be shortened over season Andrew Nelis

A restriction on field sizes to 12 runners per race and the use of only senior jockeys both feature in the latest plans for the potential resumption of racing in Britain. The last meetings to take place in Britain were at Wetherby and Taunton on March 17, both behind closed doors. Any resumption will be phased and on the Flat behind closed doors, with all plans being subject to Government approval.
