Malone road great to see this guy back Andrew Nelis Racing

Malone Road, one-time favourite for the 2019 Champion Bumper, made a winning return from a 642-day absence at Kilbeggan on Friday, overcoming an injury-hit period to get off the mark over hurdles at the first attempt. The talented Gordon Elliott-trained six-year-old hadn't been seen since beating Mt Leinster by eight and a half lengths in a Punchestown bumper in November 2018, but showed his wellbeing at the Midlands summer track, scoring comfortably at 1-5...                        Andrew Nelis Racing

Presenting percy presented to new stable Gordon Elliott Andrew Nelis racing

Owner Philip Reynolds has confirmed his star chaser Presenting Percy will be trained by Gordon Elliott this season, after being moved from Pat Kelly's yard. The nine-year-old is a dual Cheltenham Festival winner, having supplemented his victory in the 2017 Pertemps Final with a brilliant display in the 2018 RSA Chase that saw him move to the head of ante-post lists for the following year's Cheltenham Gold Cup. However, Presenting Percy raced just once prior to his bid for Gold Cup glory - winning the Galmoy Hurdle at Gowran Park - and finished a disappointing eighth in the blue riband, after which he was diagnosed with a back problem..

Breaking!! Envoi Allen could go Supreme Andrew Nelis Racing

Gordon Elliott has said “there’s every possibility” Envoi Allen could contest the Sky Bet Supreme Novices’ Hurdle on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival rather than lining up on day two. The six-year-old has dominated the market for the two-mile-five-furlong Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle on the second afternoon of action, but testing ground could prompt Elliott to rethink his plan and drop back to two miles instead. Envoi Allen won the Champion Bumper at the meeting last year and he arrives unbeaten in seven starts, including three over hurdles this term. Having won at Grade One level over two miles as well as two and a half, Elliott would have no qualms about switching back in distance. Speaking at a Betfair preview on Thursday evening, Elliott said: “There’s every possibility I’ll switch him back to the Supreme Novice. “I’ve been speaking to (trainer) Olly Murphy over the last few days, he doesn’t live that far from Cheltenham and he says it hasn’t stopped raining. We g...

Tiger roll coasting the Gallops Andrew Nelis Racing

Dual Grand National winner Tiger Roll and red-hot Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle favourite Envoi Allen were among a team of Cheltenham Festival contenders to enjoy a spin after racing at Leopardstown on Monday. Gordon Elliott described himself as “delighted” with Tiger Roll, who goes for a third win in the Glenfarclas Chase and a fifth Festival win overall, while Envoi Allen also satisfied the handler. Magners Cheltenham Gold Cup contender Delta Work was another notable name in action, along with Samcro, who currently has five options at next week’s showpiece meeting. Elliott said: “Envoi Allen went well. Fury Road always works well and I was very happy with him. “Lisa (O’Neill) rode Tiger Roll and I was delighted with him. I just needed to get a good blow into him and we’re happy with him. “Samcro schooled and Mark Walsh gave Delta Work a pop as well. Coeur Sublime worked well and we were happy with all of them. “(Champion Bumper contenders) Queens Brook and Darling Daughter...

Andy Dufresne will stay at home and not Go to Cheltenham Andrew Nelis

Andy Dufresne has his first test at Naas on Sunday since Gordon Elliott’s decision to keep the exciting young recruit on Irish soil and sidestep Cheltenham. The six-year-old, who lines up in the Paddy Power Betting Shop Novice Hurdle, has created a big impression with two wins from three starts over the smaller obstacles, including one at this Grade Two level at Punchestown last month. “We decided to skip Cheltenham with Andy Dufresne this year as there are a number of nice races for him at home in the spring and this race is the first of them,” said Elliott. “I thought he did well to win at Punchestown last month, I really liked the way he battled to get on top after the last and I’ve been happy with him since then. “He seems very well in himself.” Recent Fairyhouse winner Exit Poll is a notable rival for Andy Dufresne among the 10 declared. Trainer Jessica Harrington said: “We’ve always liked Exit Poll and I was delighted with his win at Fairyhouse last time out. “H...

Glenoe Ruled out of the Cheltenham festival

Gordon Elliott’s team for the Cheltenham Festival has shrunk by one – with the leading trainer forced to rule Glenloe out of the meeting. The JP McManus-owned nine-year-old was favourite for the Fulke Walywn Kim Muir Challenge Cup. He already has good Festival form to his name, beaten just a short head in the Pertemps Final of 2018 by stablemate Delta Work – now one of the leading fancies for this year’s Gold Cup. Glenloe has yet to win in five outings over fences, but has shaped well the last twice in valuable handicaps. However, Elliott informed punters via Twitter on Friday morning that his charge will miss the Festival. He wrote: “Unfortunately Glenloe will be missing this years Cheltenham Festival due to a little set back.”                             ANDREW Nelis Racing

Shattered Love both Ryanair and Gold cup Options Andrew Nelis

ANDREW NELIS RACING . Gordon Elliott will consider all Cheltenham Festival options for Shattered Love before deciding her target next month. The nine-year-old won the JLT Novices’ Chase – now known as the Marsh – in 2018, but has managed just one subsequent success, in a Listed heat last November. She ran a creditable race in defeat behind Chris’s Dream in the Red Mills Chase at Gowran on Saturday, and Elliott believes a wind operation brought about that improvement. Shattered Love is entered in both the Ryanair Chase and the Magners Gold Cup, but Elliott has not ruled out a handicap date either. He said: “She might go for the Ryanair. She had a wind operation after her previous run, before running very well in Gowran over the weekend. “She seems to be better over two and a half or two-five rather tha...

TIGER ROLLS WEIGHTS GRAND NATIONAL D DAY .                                       ANDREW NELIS RACING NEWS AND REVIEWS    Tiger roll today finds out the weight he will be handed for the 2020 Grand national . We will find out , which by the way it's been the topic of much debate , between the English handicappers and Irelands ones.  I hope for the sake of racing  that  he doesn't be lumped for ridiculous weight , this horse Gordon Elliott trained and Gigginstown owned Michael Oleary , is heading into legendary status if not already given his back to back National wins  also back to back cross country  also . The only horse other than  Tiger roll to win back to back was Red Rum another legend in his own right !.
