Stradivarious French target in September Andrew Nelis Racing

Stradivarius is among 20 entries for the Prix Foy at ParisLongchamp on September 13. John Gosden indicated after his six-year-old’s latest Goodwood Cup triumph that the mile-and-a-half contest would be the intended next port of call for his star stayer, with a crack at the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in mind. The progressive Way To Paris, who won his first Group One at the age of seven last time out, and Jean-Claude Rouget’s Sottsass head the home team. Aidan O’Brien has entered Japan, Anthony Van Dyck and Sovereign, while Roger Charlton has given Extra Elusive the option after providing Hollie Doyle with a notable triumph in the Rose of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock. The Prix Vermeille has attracted 25 entries, including the O’Brien-trained Magical, Ger Lyons’ Irish Oaks winner Even So, Dermot Weld’s Tarnawa and Rouget’s exciting filly Raabihah. Also among the entries is David Menuisier’s very easy Prix Minerve winner Wonderful Tonight. “We were very pleased with her last tim...

Dettori lands the Prix Guillaume D Ornano at Deauville Andrew Nelis racing

Mishriff backed up his French Derby success with a comfortable victory in the Prix Guillaume D'Ornano at Deauville. The John Gosden-trained colt justified jockey Frankie Dettori's decision to cross the Channel and miss riding at York next week, as a result of new quarantine regulations regarding travel from France. Mishriff took on the horses who were second and third behind him in the Prix du Jockey Club in The Summit and Victor Ludorum - but the outcome was more emphatic this time...                      Andrew Nelis Racing

Ed walker keeps the faith with his King Andrew Nelis racing

Ed Walker remains convinced there are "big days" ahead for English King despite a second consecutive defeat for the Lingfield Derby Trial winner. Having finished fifth in the Investec Derby, English King was short of room at a crucial stage when fourth to Mogul in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood last week. But Walker has not lost any faith in the Bjorn Nielsen-owned colt, and connections will choose between the Grand Prix de Paris and the St Leger as the next target for the son of Camelot..                      Andrew Nelis Racing

English King out to make amends Andrew Nelis Racing

Ed Walker is hoping English King can turn around the Derby form with Khalifa Sat and confirm his Group One potential in the John Pearce Racing Gordon Stakes at Goodwood. The Camelot colt shot to prominence in the Epsom betting after a facile trial success at Lingfield, but he could finish only fifth behind surprise all-the-way winner Serpentine on the big day earlier this month. Khalifa Sat finished second on that occasion, three-quarters of a length ahead of English King - and while Walker's charge was making up ground in the finish, he has full respect for the Derby runner-up..

Ricceta able replacement for Musidora Stakes Andrew Nelis

Franconia was ruled out of the Tattersalls Musidora Stakes with a dirty scope on Wednesday, but owner Khalid Abdullah still has two very promising fillies lining up at York in Ricetta and Pocket Square. Frankie Dettori will be on the short-priced favourite Ricetta, having already chosen to ride Franconia's John Gosden-trained stablemate when declarations were published on Tuesday for the Group Three contest. Abdullah's silks will also be sported by Roger Charlton's Pocket Square, a winner at this level in France last season.                Andrew Nelis Racing

Franklyn Darlings Owner Talks about his fillies chances in Oaks Andrew Nelis

Owner Anthony Oppenheimer believes the fact no spectators will be at Epsom on Saturday for the Investec Oaks could boost the chances of his filly Frankly Darling. The daughter of Frankel has come a long way in a short space of time, as she was still a maiden when racing resumed on June 1. She was the undoubted star in action when racing returned at Newcastle, with the John Gosden-trained filly bolting up and subsequently going on to land the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot. That race would normally come after the Oaks, but in this mixed up season it was seen as a trial for Epsom.                        Andrew Nelis racing

Hope's high for the Darling appeal and goal Andrew Nelis racing

Leading owner Anthony Oppenheimer is keeping his fingers crossed Frankly Darling can provide his breeding operation with the final piece of the British Classic puzzle with victory in the Investec Oaks at Epsom on Saturday week. The now familiar Oppenheimer colours were first carried to Classic glory by On The House in 1000 Guineas of 1982, owned and bred by Anthony's late father, Sir Philip. The family's Hascombe And Valiant Studs were also responsible for breeding Footstepsinthesand, who went on to win the 2000 Guineas for Aidan O'Brien and Coolmore in 2005, while Oppenheimer owned and bred the 2015 Derby hero Golden Horn...

Dettori gets the nod on English king for epsom Derby

Frankie Dettori will take the ride aboard Investec Derby favourite English King at Epsom on Saturday week, trainer Ed Walker has confirmed. The son of Camelot stamped himself as a leading contender for the premier Classic with a hugely impressive display in the Lingfield Derby Trial earlier in the month and is now a best priced 7-2, ahead of Andrew Balding's 2000 Guineas hero Kameko at 5-1.                      Andrew Nelis  racing ..

Stradivarious tears Gold cup field to pieces as he claims three in a row Ascot Andrew Nelis

Stradivarius became a three-time Gold Cup winner at Royal Ascot with arguably his most impressive performance to date. Held onto for as long as possible by Frankie Dettori - who was claiming his eighth victory in the great marathon race - the son of Sea The Stars simply cruised into contention on the turn in and sauntered alongside long-time leader Nayef Road, who wasn't giving up easily for Ryan Moore. But Stradivarius turned on the after-burners with a couple of furlongs to go and streaked clear to win by 10 lengths and enter the record books in tremendous style..

Dettori fine mark at Royal Ascot

Frankly Darling gave trainer John Gosden his 50th success at Royal Ascot with a convincing victory in the Ribblesdale Stakes. The daughter of Frankel made light of jumping up in class from a maiden to a Group Two on just her third start. Frankie Dettori - 30 years on from his first Royal Ascot win on Markofdistinction in the Queen Anne Stakes - gave the well-backed 11-8 favourite a confident ride.

Dettori on the comeback Kempton Park

Frankie Dettori returns to action at Kempton on Tuesday and, speaking live on BBC Breakfast this morning, he said he is feeling as excited as a kid at Christmas about getting back on the racecourse. Dettori has just his fifth ride in Britain in 2020 – and first since the resumption of the sport – on hot favourite Galsworthy in the 1m4f maiden stakes ( 4.30 ).  His mount is a steady 10-11 favourite following two promising efforts as a two-year-old. Dettori said: "I'm good to go. It was nice to put a shirt on and get out of my pyjamas. I'm like a kid on Christmas morning, I can't wait to go racing.  "It's over three months since I've competed but we've still got to exercise the horses, we've got 3,000 of those in Newmarket. It was nice yesterday to watch live sport for the first time. It's going to be a bit weird with no crowds but we're following the golden guidelines.  "We had ten races yesterday and it's quite remarkabl...

Golden Horn a epsom Hero Andrew Nelis Racing

Golden Horn's glorious campaign of 2015 is something that will live long in the memory for Frankie Dettori. The John Gosden-trained, Anthony Oppenheimer-owned son of Cape Cross was virtually unstoppable, and first served notice of his credentials in the Dante at York before powering to glory at Epsom in the Derby. Dettori, who had teamed up for the first time with Golden Horn in the Feilden Stakes at Newmarket, opted to partner stablemate Jack Hobbs on the Knavesmire, but could only look on as William Buick and Golden Horn swept past.
