              Min heads up Ryanair chase Cheltenham 2019

Willie Mullins charge min heads up a field of 13 at this stage of the standings in the Ryanair chase Cheltenham. The 8yr old has run at the festival twice before finishing second to the champion chaser Altior . What strikes me about min is he reminds me of a sizing John who also was playing second fiddle to the powerful douvan , before being stepped up in trip  and go on to win a gold cup  . Min is a worthy favourite were we are now , without Altior  we could have been looking at a festival  winners two years on the trot . It’s very highly possible  he has found his trip  and it could be a third time lucky at Prestbury Park come March

Horse Racing Ireland delighted to get June 8 approval for resumption Fri 15 May 2020 Horse Racing  Ireland  chief executive Brian Kavanagh has expressed the sport’s gratitude after being given permission to restart action behind closed doors on June 8. The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine said last week that racing, as a spectator-free sport, would fall into the third phase of the Irish Government’s plan to ease lockdown restrictions, meaning a June 29 restart looked likely. However, following consultation between HRI and the Irish Government, it has been agreed racing can resume three weeks’ earlier than initially scheduled, with strict protocols in place. The last meeting to be held in Ireland before the coronavirus shutdown was at Clonmel on March 24.
