  John Quinn's incredibly consistent Mr Wagyu won for the fifth time this season when making most of the running in the Unibet Stewards' Sprint Handicap at Goodwood.   azzaway got up in the dying strides to give Willie Mullins another feature race winner at Galway in the Guinness Handicap Hurdle. Having already achieved the notable double of landing the Galway Plate with Royal Rendezvous and the Galway Hurdle with Saldier, Mullins continued his dominance of the meeting on day five. Only fifth turning into the straight, Jazzaway (9-1) looked to have plenty to do under Conor McNamara – who already had one winner under his belt on the day – as Western Victory made his bid for home.   Battaash failed in his bid to win a fifth successive King George Qatar Stakes as Suesa registered an impressive victory in the Goodwood feature. Trained by Francois Rohaut, Suesa (7-1) was settled in behind during the early stages of the five-furlong contest as defending champion Battaash was among those to race prominently. Maydanny wins the Qatar Unibet Golden Mile .Andrew Nelis racing

  Maydanny notched his second win at the Qatar Goodwood Festival with a facile success in the Unibet Golden Mile. Mark Johnston's charge won the 10-furlong handicap on the opening day of the meeting last season.   David Menuisier is determined to view Wonderful Tonight's Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes opponents with due respect as he prepares the rerouted favourite for her Group Two assignment at Goodwood.   Last Empire proved her stamina with a gutsy success in the Whispering Angel Oak Tree Stakes at Goodwood. Running over seven furlongs for the first time in the Group Three, Kevin Ryan's mare was handy throughout before seeing off the late challenge of Onassis. Saldier is the king of hurdlers at Galway

  Saldier defied top-weight to give Willie Mullins a huge double by winning the Guinness Galway Hurdle Handicap. Just 24 hours on from winning the Galway Plate with Royal Rendezvous, Mullins saddled his third winner of the Galway Hurdle in just four years. It was also a third win in the race for Patrick Mullins - an outstanding achievement for an amateur jockey. Saldier, a Grade One winner back in November 2019, is still only seven but his career has been blighted by a succession of injuries. Mullins nursed him back to health to win on the Flat in June and he then ran a good race at Royal Ascot to finish fifth in the Copper Horse Stakes.                   Andrew Nelis racing news

  Asymmetric showed a smart turn of foot to win the Unibet Richmond Stakes and cap a fine Goodwood meeting for Alan King. Cheltenham Festival-winning trainer King - who sent out his first Group One winner earlier in the week when Trueshan landed the Goodwood Cup - saw Asymmetric gain compensation for his narrow second in the July Stakes at Newmarket.                    Andrew Nelis racing

  Armor fairly bolted up in the Markel Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood and turned Royal Ascot form on its head. Richard Hannon's youngster had finished fifth behind Chipotle in the Windsor Castle Stakes in June, where Boonie was third.   Alcohol Free beat the colts to provide owner Jeff Smith with a famous victory in the Qatar Sussex Stakes at Goodwood. Successful in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot in June, the Andrew Balding-trained filly attempted to make all in the Falmouth at Newmarket last time out but had to give best close home to Snow Lantern, who took her on again.                  Andrew Nelis racing

  James Fanshawe   is confident   Audarya   can handle testing conditions as she seeks her third Group One victory in the Qatar Nassau Stakes at   Goodwood .   Jessica Harrington has vowed her team "will learn from" the error that saw the wrong horse run in a two-year-old maiden at Galway. Alizarine appeared to have run out an impressive winner in Tuesday's COLM QUINN BMW Irish EBF Fillies Maiden on her racecourse bow, but it later transpired that three-year-old Aurora Princess had mistakenly run in the juvenile's place.   A quick reappearance proved no barrier to success for Angel Bleu, as Frankie Dettori steered Ralph Beckett's colt to victory in the Unibet Vintage Stakes at Goodwood. Runner-up in the Listed Pat Eddery Stakes at Ascot on Saturday, the Dark Angel youngster was sent off at 100-30 to go one better in this Group Three contest just three days later.   Stradivarius was a late withdrawal from the Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup due to ground conditions. John and Thady Gosden's star stayer had been due to bid for a fifth successive win in the Group One contest over two miles.   Plenty of the major stables have made an impact at the Galway festival in recent years but Finny Maguire hailed Dermot Weld as still the king of Ballybrit after Coltor prevailed for the pair in a thrilling finish to the feature Connacht Hotel Handicap. James Fanshawe’s mare enjoyed a tremendous campaign in 2020, progressing from a narrow victory in a Newcastle handicap to claiming Group One honours in both the Prix Jean Romanet at Deauville and the Filly And Mare Turf at Keeneland.   Charlie Appleby appears to have a stranglehold on the Unibet Lennox Stakes at Goodwood, with both Space Blues and Creative Force lining up for the Godolphin trainer. Appleby has enjoyed a dream season, with Adayar and Hurricane Lane dominating the three-year-old middle distance races, but Space Blues and Creative Force will not be hanging about over seven furlongs on Tuesday.   Jim Goldie has his eye on a £100,000 bonus after Tommy G just lasted home in a thrilling finish to the Sky Bet Sunday Series Apprentice Training Series Handicap at Musselburgh. Tommy G staked his claim when hanging on by a head from Six Strings. Claimer Gianluca Sanna set sail for home some way out on the eight-year-old who soon set up a handy lead.   Stradivarius is set to face 10 rivals in his bid for a remarkable fifth victory in Tuesday’s Al Shaqab Goodwood Cup. John and Thady Gosden’s superstar stayer has landed the two-mile Group One ever year since 2017, beating the great Double Trigger’s record of three victories in the race in the 1990s. Despite having come up short in his bid for a fourth Gold Cup success at Royal Ascot last month, Stradivarius will be a hot favourite to get back on the winning trail on the Sussex Downs under Frankie Dettori. With his Gold Cup hero Subjectivist sidelined by injury, Mark Johnston instead saddles his half-brother Sir Ron Priestley and his stablemate Nayef Road.   George Baker was delighted as Destiny Queen made a winning debut in the John Guest Racing British EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes at Ascot. Baker's Surrey yard is not known for winners first time out, and Destiny Queen was sent off a 28-1 chance.
