                        DUBLIN RACING FESTIVAl 2020.                           leopardstown 2nd feb 2020.               This weekend in Ireland features key races at leopardstown ahead of the hugely awaited Cheltenham festival.  What we have in store, is the Irish champion hurdle ,were Henry De Bromhead  smart Mayor honeysuckle takes on the Geldings of last years Cheltenham festival winner supreme winner klassical dream  who needs to put his season back on track  after a poor last race . Willett Mullins other notable gelding in there is sharjah a very consistent sort who will be at the head of the market and a live contender,  its safe to assume that  Henry De bromheads  Honeysuckle   that if she is successful, then connections well be very tempted to point her into the Cheltenham champion hurdle ,  she will have that 7lb mares allowance, if she beats the likes of sharjah and klassical dream, then she would be well worth her position in the quest for champion hurdle glory .       Cleeve hurdle Cheltenham  Today at Cheltenham in there seasonal cleeve hurdle , saw current holder and stayers hurdle champion  paisley pk take on a number of notable stayers  with the 3mile cleeve . Tobefair Somerville boy  lami Serge being the bulk of the opposition in what was a keen run race  and a finish  that would put the winner paisley pk  firmly on course for the stayers in March at the festival.  They had taken off at a reasonable pace in the 3m 12 obstacles with Somerville leading the pace , now paisley just sat in behind most of the race , only heading when approaching the second last , and it was his pace and toe  that sent him on , to win back to back cleeves  IMO it sets him up bar a fall, to line up and have them all at his mercy come the festival.  Paisley pk is a 8 yr old of Emma lavells onboard the reliable and astute jockey Aidan Coleman.   Keep watching for my tips and reviews leading up to the festival .   John Mulhern Galmoy hurdle grade 2 Thursday seen the action of willie Mullins mare Benie des dieux.  Now this mare was up against  a few past Cheltenham winners, notably Penhill and Killutagh vicApples jade , plus Death Duty  gigginstown charge lining up .  The mare won with ease , against what was  a competitive field.  What will willie Mullins do now . Will he give her the 7lb pull to go to the champion hurdle or would she rattle the current stayers champ in paisley pk .
